iPad oddity?

When viewing the forum threads and hitting the back button it doesn’t go back for 2, 3, 4 maybe more hits? Any ideas folks?

I get that intermittently on Android and Windows, too. My guess it is to do with the Apester plug-in sitting at the bottom of the page (on the mobile version anyway) that wants you to click through to (currently) the Top sailing apps you should try. I think when that refreshes, the browser takes it as a new page, so going "back" takes you back to the previous plug-in display, before going back to the previous page.
BTW, if anyone knows how to disable it, all my ad-blocking efforts have come to nowt.

I see it too, I believe there's a thread complaining about it on the Feedback forum, though I haven't looked in on it recently.

EDIT: Delete my assumed explanation that's probably not correct. Going by all the reports in the other threads it looks like a rogue ad rather than the forum itself.

Mine did it then stopped, now its come back. The FAT say different things depending on whose turn it is to be FAT!

If anyone has an alternative explanation, I'm happy to test it :) as I can replicate the issue myself.

Otherwise, testing so far indicates that this isn't an iPad only issue, it affects all devices and for some reason adblocking software gets rid of it. It does seem however that iPad users continue to be disproportionately affected by this supposedly even after putting adblock software in their browsers. The software that works for me is Ublock Origin, you may or may not have to use NoScript instead. Eitherway you should seek advice on either the Safari discussion boards or your chosen adblock plugin discussion boards as to why it's not working properly.

You may have to clear cookies/cache (always good practice)/reboot your system.

The administrator themselves have indicated that the problem has been referred to a specialist team for investigation/actioning, until then however the only work around is adblocking software.

The evidence that points to rogue adverts.
1. Only happens when adblocking software is disabled (on my machine)
2. Upon a fresh page loading, a second page in the history is generated (meaning another page call) this would happen with an <iframe> that calls the referral page.
3. There is evidence that some <iframes> call the referral page. (Right click view source, enjoy)
4. Some users have had success with adblocking (including Mac users).

Surprise, surprise, it’s cured itself! Well maybe not, but is working perfectly well at the moment without turning it off and on, my usual technical response to any problem.
