The Ebay unit seems suspiciously cheap for a pure sine-wave device - the only way to know is to buy it, and with postage, VAT and import duty, it's going to set you back at least twice the base price.

As you're replacing a quasi-sine wave device, I'd recommend the soft-start TLC unit - I've always had good service from them as a supplier, and own the previous model they supplied in this power range - no problem running a microwave and power tools from it.

Also, try at Maplins. i bought an inverter 1000w about 3 years ago, approx £70, and it run everything including flat screen tv, computers etc.

The inverter might have been an exception, but I find most stuff at Maplins is overpriced and mediocre. Its sole benefit is that it's open when you need a part unexpectedly, say at weekends.

Although increasingly, even if open, it may not actually have the part you want. A few months ago when I needed one, neither of the Southampton branches had a relay, of any size, type or rating, in stock.
