The old one’s hardly used...Treat yourself to a new knob.

Those handles are an exact match...the only difference is yours is a two piece lock...but that must mean that they make the single ones... I will check Plastimo’s website? This looks to be the right lock A and C (although the one shown is anti-rattle) - the form factor and locking knob look spot on. Might give you a lead as to where to get a spring.

That looks the right size...I will check their site?this looks similar

Agree .Is there a metalworker/blacksmith (as suggested) or locksmith in your area?
Spring wire is available and can be wound to make new springs.
In my work as a piano technician I need to adapt and remake springs, obviously not to the gauge you need unfortunately.
Simply cut the heads of a few nails, draw new springs on a piece of wood, bang in nails and bend wire to shape.
Does actually work.
Thanks for that...it’s not the right shape..but it gives me a ballpark figure of how much a spring costs...and it’s shocking ?Have a look at SVB24 in the Bavaria area. They all use the same I think.
Replacement Locking Spring for Access Door only 28,95 € | SVB
I will get out my vernier caliper tomorrow !Agree .
You need the correct gauge of stainless steel wire .It’s springy enough.
A pair of bird beak pliers and a pair of round nose pliers .
A bit of practice , by the third attempt you have bent one up .

It will be interesting to find out what the whole replacement lock costs...
Is it the door handle stopping them heading for the moon.SVB sell stuff for boats.
That is why is costs 10 x what it would cost in a hardware store.
If it was for an airplane, it would cost 100 x.
If it was for the military, it would cost 1000 x.
If it was for a lunar lander, it would cost 10,000 x.
Might be. It was something that was not properly closed and letting fuel out.....Is it the door handle stopping them heading for the moon.
Make sure to rob the springs out of the old lock for the spares box!Ok..first I went to the locksmith...turns out it’s just a key cutting and heel bar...in fact the guy there thought that if I undid the lock all the springs would fly out..then I went trawling through the chandlers at the port...there is one chandler I always leave to last because he usually has what I want..he has the smallest shop with the largest inventory...anyhow he didn’t have the lock...so I went outside and called the wife to tell her the bad news and discuss where I would be eating my lunch...when the chandler walked outside straight past me...but I could see he had something in his hand...and I just knew it was a lock..so I called out to him...anyhow, one bank loan later, I am the owner of a new lock...€79?....so I ate lunch at home.....
Anyhow all is not lost...at least I found a new tag line for my posts?
Unfortunately...I’ve just bought the whole unit?.....you owe me €79?Might be worth looking here for the spring:
Lee Spring | Stock and Custom Springs - Engineering Support
No connection. Just saw they’ve got lots of springs and, as you’ve got it apart without losing the other springs, it seems a shame to replace the whole unit.
Any solution for a boat that’s <€100 has to be counted as a win.Unfortunately...I’ve just bought the whole unit?.....you owe me €79?
