There seems to be an overriding bias towards individuals' rights, blithly ignoring those same people's obligations/responsibilities.

But, whereas the cruise control story is an urban legend, the injuries suffered by Jacob Brochtrup were not made up for the internet consumption of the gullible.

However, in the USA it sets a precedence that allows a company to be successfully sued for any injury caused by its products.

Get run over by a Ford car and you should be able to sue.

In ten years it'll be the same here.
