Insurance seems to be a difficult area at the moment. I'm trying to arrange insurance for a single-handed Transatlantic circuit, but without success. Can't, at this stage, even find anyone willing to do third party cover.

I'm thinking of arranging insurance once I've crossed, as I'm told that some harbours/marinas require details of insurance cover. Someone has posted a similar question on the Yachting Monthly Scuttlebut site.

I'm looking at health insurance as well, but most put a limit of about 90 days for any one trip. The exception seems to be Trailfinders (Trailfinders.com) who will, according to their leaflet, cover for up to twelve months for about £400.

Hope this helps.
