Hello,
Sorry, This is kind of a re-post. I posted earlier that my boat was a Senator 470 but it's a 465. Sorry.
I have owned my boat for over a year now and would like to know if anybody has any info on her.
We have just found out from the brokerage that she is a senator 465, or something on those lines, she is just under 16 feet long, or 4 m, 70 cm to hint the obvious. SHe was built by small craft and as far as I'm aware she was one of the last designs small craft ever made.
I would be intrested to know what their sea keeping abilities are like, I sail her on Windermere but am moving to barrow or Glasson next season and would like to cruise the West of Cumbria.
I would also like to find out how old she is, I made an approximate build date of late 1980s but am probably completely wrong.
Here are some pictures of her:

She really is a beautiful boat, she is very fast, I've recorded a top speed of 8 knots under genoa alone!!!!!

Thanks alot,

Alasdair

Don't worry about the Mobo forum. You have a sailing boat and will be of no interest the mobo forumites.
Small Craft (Blockley) Ltd (later Small Craft/Blue Hulls Ltd)built several different small sailing boats in the 70's but I believe later folded. Their MD was Geoff Lusty of the family which owned Lloyd Loom Lusty, the makers of those wicker appearance tub chairs which, I believe, were in fact made from paper tubing! Would someone please correct me if I am wrong on that point.

I'm afraid I cannot help you about your Senator however.

Small Craft (Blockley) Senator 520

I had a similar boat once to the boat you described. Mine was a senator 520 built by smallcraft (blockley ltd). The built a whole range of senator models in the late 80's early 90's. I believe blockley were established way back in the 60's but the senator line was one of the last to be built before the demise of the british boat manufacturing industry in the late 90's. My boat was built in1991, the company later dissolved. Small craft were an exceedingly difficult company to get information from, but by god they did build some good boats, well apart from that rough patch they hit in the 70's. My senator 520 handled weather exceptionally well for her size and I even recorded 8.5 knotts on occasion, took her out in winds up to F6, she was most comfortable at about F4 though.

Heres all the info I have anyway on the senator 520 which I simlar to the 470 just a bit larger I think, don't know if this will be of any use.

L = 18ft, B = 7.2ft, draft = 2.3ft , displmt = 700kg (1540lbs), sail area = 180sq ft, ballast = 180kg(400lbs), total weight 400kg (880lbs). Hull 30mm grp foam sandwitch construction, mast = 16.6ft, 5ft lifting centerplate.

I'd love to get my hands on antother one any one have any ideas where I could find one now?
