Any recommendations please for a really lightweight inflatable that would suit 2 adults and 2 children for short hops to the mooring?

If only. There does not seem to be anything between cheap kids beach toys and dinghies priced at nearly £300 and upwards. They are not lightweight either!

If you are inclined towards the kids beach toys then look at the Sevylor range

It's a trade off between weight and durability (and along with that safety) Do you want something that's going to go pop with the slightest abrasion?

I also needed a light weight tender for my small sports boat. Bought a 2m Puffin with an engine bracket ( here ). It really is stupidly light (less than 10kg) and stows into a tiny locker.

They do bigger ones as well, but they are not exactly cheap.

We had a small lightweight Plastimo 2.4 SWMBO found it to heavy to lift

So......................

Now have a much heavier 2.7m RIB put wheels on it so easy to manage single handed
The large wheels roll happily over sand or pebbles

Think the wheels cost about £100 wish we'd bought them years ago!

Just another option

Fair play to you Fireball; a considerate and observational post to a newbie. A good example of manners in this Forum. Hopefully you also helped CGeorge in his quest.
