Having probs inflating the Honda inflatable that I got with my boat.
some of the compartments inflate and hold the pressure when I take pump out and fit valve cap.
Other compartments do not hold pressure when i remove pump as the valve does not automatically close.
The dinghy is not very old and is in good condition.there are no leaks in the fabric.
Is there anything that I can do to make the non return work on the valves that do not close.
Can they be replaced or do they just need some lubrication.
Have got the manual for dinghy but no mention of faulty valves?

Some valves can be 'locked' into deflate by pushing them in and giving a slight turn.
Maybe worth checking?
My apologies if you are already aware of this.
Otherwise,strip and clean as suggested.
Cheers

You sure it’s not the locking type valves that either screw in to hold open or screw out to hold non return ?

thanks for the info you are right!
It worked.!!

excellent! advice much appreciated.
No worries. What’s worse than that...is when you know that’s how they work and forget to unscrew them...tire yourself silly pumping up the chamber...then remove the pump and lose all the air and hard work ?
