Inflatable dinghy - adding a seat

I have a small inflatable dinghy to which I would like to add a seat (plank of wood). I would like to attach the end of the seat to the sides by glueing patches to seat and side of dinghy to hold it in place (another dingy I have uses this method). Question - will it work, can I stick patches onto the inflatable as strongly as manufacturers do? What glue, what patches and where do I get them from.

My barrus inflatable uses the method you describe.....(with a "fold" in the fabric to locate in a groove in the seat?) from recent experience the two part glues and correct fabric produce very strong bonds if correctly prepared and applied.

We got materials at the local inflatable specialists

The glue is a strong Industrial Contact glue that remains flexible.

It can be obtained from Inflatable Service Centres, such as Ron Hales etc.

Buy a fat fender....

...sausage type, that wedges in tight when dinghy inflated.

Serves two purposes.
