I am not awaare of any other yachting forums operating overseas, but immagine there are. Being UK based, it interests me to see where other forum readers come from (ouside the UK) and if they know of any such forums with their web addresses.

If you go to the Liveaboard forum then you will find most of us live and or work abroad, but still keep in contact with the poor souls that have to suffer Charlie Brown and Lionel Blair.

Country?

Judging from some posts we may have forum members who don't live on the same planet as the rest of us.

US forums

There are several good ones based in the US. Boatered.com is primarily powerboats and moderated with a VERY heavy hand--to the extent that posts asking about other sites are deleted. I hosted a forum on it for three years...when increased off-line responsibilities mandated that I cut back on some of my hosting duties, I'd intended to continue to participate as just another member, but the site owner expressed his gratitude for the 3 years I'd put into it by locking me out of the site altogether, claiming that my decision to give up hosting duties must mean that I have negative feelings about the site. Join at your own risk.

The Bayliner Owners Club (BOC) is at http://pub12.ezboard.com/bbocweb and does attract members from all over the world.

Cruising World magazine maintains one of the best sites for blue water sailors and wannabe's. It's at http://www.cruisingworld.com/forums/genlmesg/

Sailboatowners.com maintains several brand-specific forums for owners of Hunter, Beneteau, Catalina, Oday, MacGregor, and a few more. Several forums, including my own "head mistress" forum, are shared across all the sites, while those related to brand-specific issues only show up in that one. You can read all the shared forums at http://www.sailboatowners.com and find your way to each of the brand specific sites from there.

Sailnet. com (http://www.sailnet.com) maintains a discussion board and also a zillion brand-specific email lists.

A google search should turn up quite a few more, but those are the major US sites.

FYI, trailersailer.com is now part of the sailboatowners.com group...as of 2-3 months ago.

Several of boating magazines in the US have discussion forums--Boating (for the testosterone-overloaded powerboat crowd)....just to name a few. And while mostly populated by Americans and Canadians, most of the boards do have participants from all over the world.

New Zealand.

Apart from if one has an interest in a particular boat owners' site eg Beneteau, the ypw.com forums are the only ones worth paying regular attention to (by far), in my opinion.
