Barnacle, I am passing on comments from a bunch of delivery skippers that have just wrestled with such a rig delivering to the SHBS (the equipment did look nice). BUT : They were very unhappy about the sail shape when reefed and the fact that there was nothing they could about it, no way to tension the foot. They were very happy about the weight coming down as the sail was reefed.
My only experience of boom reefing goes back to the days of the centaur with the crank on the gooseneck, and cotton sails if I remember correctly . . . . . that lot was changed for slab.
I do however have considerable experience of in mast and retro fitted in mast and even though our age is advancing I would not go back to it.
