In-line Fuel Bulb

I'm not sure whether it makes any difference at all, but I've fitted one, and do give it several squeezes to circulate the fuel a bit prior to starting, and 'feel' that it makes it better, without any evidence at all, just that it makes an efficient gurgling sound in the tank, and I feel better for it.

New boat (65 years old), with 10 year old Vetus diesel.

What do I use that squeeze bulb for ?
After a filter change you can either waggle the lever on the mechanical fuel pump located under the seawater pump OR multiple squeezes of that bulb to pump the fuel through to bleed out any air. The small Vetus engines are largely self bleeding so no need to open any bleed valves.
