There seems to be a big difference in price of computer cooling blowers {£6-15} and marine engine room blowers {£27-50} .
The only physical difference seems to be the casing.
Any views?

Was thinking the same question over the weekend - checking on various sites, seems the in-line blowers have a current draw of around 3 amps, with the radial type drawing a bit over 4 amps.

Interesting if a x10 air movement is achieved with only 30% more current draw?

You'll find that the OP was comparing computer cooling fans with proper engine room blowers. That's where the 10x performance difference is.
