Sunseeker Predator 92 Sport

What is it?: "Ninety-two feet of pure beauty and luxury,"
say Sunseeker, and who are we to argue?

Worth seeing because: The new Predator, fitting between the 108 and the 82, looks every bit as swish and impressive as the others in the range.

Owners will want for little in their ensuite, full-beam quarters. Not that any of the guests will be badly looked after in the three other cabins, each containing a flat-screen television for starters. There are also roomy crew quarters.

The vessel shown was reportedly performing at 40 knots with twin 2,400hp MTUs on standard shaftdrives, but of course Arnesons are available for the real show-offs. If you want something a little bigger.

You can see the first out of factory short vidio at the following link

So there you have it... I know a lot of you have asked me to send some pics of the build in progress and hopefully I will post on as she develops and maybe another post of her first trip down to the Med.

thanks love always this inbuild pictures

still remember Magnums 72 Predator and JFM for his works on the 58 Squadron also a treat
and somone else also posted an engine removal and repainting of buildges on a Fl 37 Targa

Nautical should post some Abs in build too, and I dont mind also to see from his new Europe dealership of Outer Reef too

Interesting. I see S/S are using V drive gearboxes on this boat. I think S/S is the only Brit builder using them. Any idea on the efficiency loss with these boxes. I have them on my boat and I do wonder how many hp are lost.
What's the red cylinder thingy on the port side of the engine bay?
Keep the pics coming /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

All the preds are on V Drive. No Idea on Hp loss but must say have skippered quite a few and as far as gearbox never a problem

Red Cylinder is the Sea fire system which has sprinkler type sprayers over each engine.

Nice!

Out of interest do you know what the sunseeker build number is for your 92. I have been involved in supplying custom dash finishes to Sunseeker recently pred 92's and pred 84's.

No, we dont do that one unfortunately, we do an "Engine spin" version, also found in the Bentley's plus the Bugatti Veyron!

Yep I belive that was the standard option. for this build.
but we went very custom on this trying to recreate a Bently dash board. Problem is with that many different supliers for on dash equipment its hard to get such as plotter surounds to look good.. Raymarine have been great in sending me a spare set of plotter covers. which I would like to get painted either silver or Black can you help here????

Actually we have also recently made a custom replacement cover for the Raymarine E120 and ST60 initially for the XSR48. In Anodised black aluminium. But I guess the original cover could be resprayed.

PM sent. In the meantime do you have a february copy of Motorboat and yachting, as the XSR48 writeup is in there in the custom yachting section, and you can just about make out our E120 cover insitu.

Nice pics, thanks GSkip.

That mighty sternthruster shot reminded me why I hate them, in one respect at least. The thought of kids swimming and touching it, while someone in the boat accidentally leans on the jockey stick, fills me with dread. Do please make sure you have about 30 isolators all in series, as well as the "double on" buttons on the joysticks, for when folks are swimming!

When you say "cover" for the E120 you don't mean the suncover, right? you mean the fascia plate? Custom painting that would look great. I've been thinking about it but been too busy to track down painters who can do it.

When installing E screens I suggest you note the dimensions of the new C series Widescreens (dimensions are in the 2009 Raym catalog). I'd expect Raym will make widescreen versions of the E next year and so if you leave enough gap between the E's you are installing now you will be able to cut the holes a bit bigger next year and drop in the widescreens.

The ultimate E series install though is to CNC cut the dash panel and discard the raymarine front altogether, like this SL72

Wow JMf Thought I'd seen most things that could be done but love that Pic. Wish I had started this post earlier could have gone a compleatly different way with things encorporating the engine managment systems aswell great. One to think about for next time though. Our last chats re leaks created some great thinking and safety solutions luv it..

For us the above doesn't realy get us to the Bently style dash. Raymarine have sent me a set of covers so I can go and play, maybe supported by Liselle "post above" yours who seems to be involved in this type of work.

Good point re the Stern Thruster and to that point it's the main reason we did away with the Stabaliser System. As even the makers stressed no swimming down the side of the boat whilst the system was switched on. As a kick from a stabalising wing is strong enough to move a ninty tone boat the it would throw a child into orbit aaaaaagh.

With regard to thrusters It would be quite a swim under the platform to get to the thruster and the pic above omits the platform which is a good ten feet or so.

So platform up I dont realy see a problem. I have skippered pred 72 for the last few years and never an issue. Same system. However Its a different matter when the platform is down as we then have a submerged aft Platform which when I stand on one the water level is two /three feet and you can clearly see the thruster. The safety back up to this usuely that the thrusters have two on buttons and one off on timers of about 10 mins. So if you havent used the thruster it switches off and requires holding the two ON buttons together to get the thrusters working. Saying all this I'm going off past experience and presuming that the new boat will be the same. Same controls.

( The boat will have a avon 320DL Jet on the platform and a Williame 445 in the Garage. So with platform half down floats away platform fully down drive off. I have planned a remote controve so that we can sit in the tender press platform down and drive off cool)

As you know from previous post you and I both seem to like belt and braces re safety. So thanks for raising the point I will be checking all this out next factory visit.
