Im looking for a book on safe fish to eat

[QUOTE.

OR ANY FISH AT ALL...i trolled all the way back from datca to Marmaris last summer with four different lines of the stern, and caught bugger all.

You must be doing something wrong then. There is fish in the Hisaronu corfezi. I even caught a small ( One meter ) swordfish there autumn 2010. Lots of palamut.
You probable ware on the way point lane. Between Datca and Marmaris in summer on that lane there are hundreds of high power motor yachts and gullets all ploughing trough the same 100 yards wide lane. I can very well understand that fish don’t want to be there.
Same on the west coast of Italy, all super yachts seem to use the same lane, beating the water into oily foam. Just sail 3 or 4 miles away from that lane, there you may find fish. Also the horsepower induced waves will be less annoying.
Around Karaburun cape, 99% of the waves are horspower induced. High speed ferry´s to Symi, high speed tripper boats, loads of mega yachts and gullets, all of them at max speed. Out of season beautiful sailing, hell in summer .
Anyway, summer is the worst time for fishing in the Med.

I think your right, it is a busy section of water that i was trying to fish in,
plus i think i was sailing a little fast at arounf 5 knots,,,
I just learning now really about fishing, so will try and try again,

Thank you everyone for the book options,

A SERIOUS WARNING. Puffer fish can be caught in the Med - I know, I caught one. Nearly ate it too - absolutely lethal if you do.
They are about 30cm long, dark on top and light underneath. Real distinghuising feature is teeth like a rabbit. They do puff up a bit when caught as well.
