Well, just guess how I'm spending my bank holiday - yesterday - taking (and accompanying and therefore paying for) various family members to the Fenland Fair.
Today, cleaning a layer of the filth off various visible parts of the house, ready for the scrutiny of my scary houseproud eldest daughter tomorrow (where does she get this from?). I like to think I can get ithe house to the point where it looks as if it now needs cleaning ... think offspring of Miss Havisham and Quentin Crisp - a leap of faith and imagination, I grant you - but it's where I am.
