Not sure what the G-cramp is doing, but it's a rare example of a tool "Made in England" fairly recently (by Paramo). I bought a couple around 25 years ago, and found they were cheaper and seemed to be better made than the ubiquitous "Record". To my surprise they are listed by some tool retailers, but apparently only as "discontinued" etc.

2nd trip. Still sorting the steering and sail battens. Now have modified the rudder to kick-up so I can actually make shore where I planned.

Picture gives you an idea of scale. The hull is a dory-style home build I was given and the amas are designed by me, made of 3mm ply and epoxy. The beams are 2" alloy tube held on with light-rigging clamps. It's a Topper mast and boom with a sail from something similar, although I may look for a laser rig as it develops. I also have an offer of an Enterpise mast and I have an old Foxcub main, but wanted to avoid standing rigging.
It's 10 ft long and managed 5 mph in light breezes so far. It weighs 65 Kgs, all-up

Yes it does need more sail. I do have a matching jib (and people have said they like the cut of it) but then I'd be into a forestay and a small bowsprit and it was supposed to be a rig-and-go boat. A Laser sail would do nicely...... anyone?

Other than that I could get the sewing machine out and butcher my Foxcub's old main.

The dog is Bob. A friend's mutt. He drinks a lot of the lake water as he barks with his head under boats (really) so he pees copiously. Don't stand near Bob.

Elucidate. I know Spitfire's were hairdresser's cars, but hairdresser's boats?

You know. Speed boats, planing mobos, that sort of thing. What are those big blue monstrosities with a telly in every cabin and a jetski garage on the afterdeck shown at the boatshow?
Hairdressers boats. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Exactly right !

It's a bit too pretty and fails to reflect the true personality of the owner. Racing boats are a bit too dainty but their owners make up for this by using colourful language, failing to stop and naming the boats such as ' Death Machine' in three foot lettering.

This may have something to do with you being beaten up by certain mobos lately.

The boat's fine but I really do feel that you have to become more threatening.

I think they all do.

I can never work out why it is that women don't get enthusiastic about things. They don't have proper hobbies and always seem to think that doing the washing is a priority.

Bloody strange, I reckon.
