........sailing along, and you heard two long blast and a short one, what would you understand it to mean?

And, what should be your answer? (Which isn't often used BTW)

I know that no-body loves a smart-a*rse but:-

I was once overtaken by a cruise liner in the Caen canal, on my port side. She gave the correct signal and, having just completed the CEVNI exam, I gave the correct response on a mouth operated forghorn. Not sure if her pilot heard me though..........
 
How about 2 short + 1 long blast then Al?

It's raining and my fly bridge horn button has again shorted out. Else if in Brixham last week. I'd replaced the horn button and testing it. when it again kept going off. Only to discover it was Deborah down below, answering my call. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
