We were recently moored up when some idiot threw a fizzy drink over the seats on our dayboat. We have tried everything to clean them but they are still sticky. Has anyone any ideas ? your help would be much appreciated

Do you mean the exterior seats, and are they vinyl?
If so a degreaser may do it, like Muc Off, Simple Green etc.
If nothing else works, you can use white spirit, but rinse with warm soapy water immediately, or it will attack the vinyl. Can also try Fairy Power Spray, but again rinse immediately.

If all else fails but only then, nail polish remover will remove all stains from vinyl, you must then wash with lots of fresh water Test a small area first to be safe. Once you have cleaned the dirty area you must put polish on to seal it or it will go dirty very quickly
