ICOM MA500 output data to chartplotter tablet

I wonder if anyone out there has managed to connect their AIS to their tablet wirelessly to receive AIS data on screen.
I have an ICOM MA500 AIS Transponder and Receiver and would like (if possible) to output its data to either a bluetooth or wifi transmitter and I am not sure if this is possible. The MA 500 has a 15 Pin output that allows both input and output of NMEA 1, 2 and 3.
I have a tablet (Android running Navionics chart app) and would like to obtain the AIS data on screen which is a function that it has.
There are some cheap wifi bridges (SeaYak SeaTalk1 to NMEA0183 to WiFi Converter ) and I am wondering if this may work.

I use a Yakker NMEA to wifi Bridge like this one NMEA to WiFi Bridge 2 Port Multiplexer (Yakker2 by YakBitz) | eBay (the one I have only has a single connection not 2). Simple to install and connects to my iPad running Navionics with a minimum of fuss.

Thanks Duncan. Can I ask whether you use it to receive AIS data from it, or are you inputting something else?

It’s only connected to the AIS. However, the data stream includes position data so my WiFi iPad uses that position for navigations as well as displaying AIS info.

Thanks so much for your help Duncan. I will order one of these. I will just have to work out which of the 3 NMEA TXs to use.
