Ibiza mooring charges

We spent last week blasting up and down the Spanish coast. We now fancy making the big trip over to Ibiza. (will post pics late when I figure out swmbos camera)

However I was there a few years ago in August and it was mega expensive to moor up so we anchored in Ibiza harbour. I have been told that is no longer allowed.

Any one got any recent experience of San Antonio or Ibiza town marinas for a 13m boat the first week in July.

I'm sure j f m will fill us in on recent charges, from memory it's mega expensive through the summer holiday period, most moorings get pre booked, though I wonder if the current climate may alter the demand.
 
San Antonio is a bit like Blackpool in the sun.
Santa Eulalia (south east) is nice though and much cheaper than Ibiza Town marinas.

I have just spent four nights there on a Princess 85 in Marina Ibiza. Result, owner has bill for €2500.

If it were August I think we would be looking at double that.

Booking is a nightmare...

Avoid berth D4 at weekends, owners like to return from club at 0600 and start another party in cockpit!
 
Agree that Santa Eulalia is better and cheaper than any of the marinas in Ibiza town - great little market in the port most evenings and lots of good restaurants. I went to San Antonio a few years ago to observe the night-time behaviour of the local wildlife :eek::D and we just anchored off in the buoy field and took the tender in to town. Back at 3am having learnt a lot!
For Ibiza town I'm planning this summer to try anchoring in one of the adjacent bays and to tender in - obviously subject to wind dirn etc.
 
When I left the Balearics in 2009, I head that Botafoch Marina in Ibiza Town was charging €375/night for a 15m berth in July/Aug. The Club Nautico should be cheaper but the quays were in dreadful condition when we were last there. Yes, there certainly was a ban on anchoring inside the breakwater at Ibiza Town and I heard some boat owners were heavily fined for doing so a few years ago. St Eulalia should be cheaper than the Ibiza Town marinas but during our time in the Balearics, we had problems getting a berth there in high season and at the time, they didn't operate an advance booking system although that was a few years ago and it might have changed now. Personally, I don't like S Antonio at all
If you're going to be visiting Ibiza in high season, you have to be prepared to anchor out overnight because of the sheer number of visiting boats. Luckily, there are a large number of gorgeous bays and calas to drop your hook in but even those get very crowded in season. Formentera is worth a visit, especially the famous bay at Espalmador and there is a marina on the island but again it's very expensive. All in all, I would say that Ibiza is much nicer early or late in the season when the crowds have gone
 
I just rocked up in San Antonio last august for one night, about 6pm and no reservation, and got a nice 25m berth for €452.27. You can just anchor right in the middle though, presumably for free

Not surprised the berth was still free at 6pm:eek:
