I think I have fixed the piccies - see Coney Island rides again!

Oh dear Dave, I think you may have to try again.
Have you had a look at Gludys image hosting site - piece of cake.
See my link below.

oops, had a look at your post below and there they are /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Don't you just love winter boating /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Wonder if it's the same Lagoon Power 43 that we travelled with from Conwy to Malahide Mayday 2004.
There was a big mayday demo in Dublin that day and the Lagoon was boarded in Malahide by Police.
We were interviewed on VHF.

You never know, maybe students are splashing out on large boats with a plan to attack the city by sea /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

We reserved a buoy in Portmadog years ago for the cuddy cabin thingy we had. Anyway after a few days, the tides were all wrong. So went to HM to tell him, he could give the buoy to some one else. But no one ever comes, he said. I could not believe him, with Pwhthffelli /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif and 500 boats just round the corner. No, he said. No one will come.

Then he started to tell us this poem. Must have been ten verses at least.

Went something like this.

They all did this,
then they all did that.
And they all went to Borth-y-Gest
And they all came back.

They all had Decca.

It's a few years ago. And none of my top line of keys work anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

And put there radar on.

And they all went to Borth-y-Gest.

And they all came back. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The pictures of Pwllhelli reminded me of a trip we made from Conwy last year with an overnight stop. Son Vida might like this one we rafted up with a Phantom 50 that made my 27ft Cobalt look like the tender, beautiful boat Son Vida and great pictures. Welcome to the forum James.
Nice pic thank you very much - any more? Can you pm a larger version by any chance?
Tell us about your sports boat - size, engines, performance. She is a beaut.
There is a small Cobalt in Malahide (around 20ft) and I think I remember a sticker on her stern saying something about "carbon fibre". Is this right?

You may be on to something here Haydn....

It must be a recent poem (as in 30 years or so) that is in fact, a mickey take of the Madoc Yacht Club and its members - and probably written by a local.

You see, there are some large-ish yachts in port that never go further than Borth-y-Gest. They have all the latest electronic gizmos and they are very sea-capable boats, but they go out to Borth-y-Gest (about 1 nm up the channel) then anchor up in a bay, and then come back again. Any reference to Decca would substantiate the time line at late 70's early 80's. Now don't get me wrong, the little bays at BYG are pretty and its a nice thing to do on a summers day. But from a local mariners point of view it must be quite amuzing to see these £100k yachts do 1nm and then come back again with their English crew. I will see if I can find out more - and I know just who too ask....
