I seen it spelt wrongly lots of times but ........

I don't object to "spelt" but I do get confused by people who set off in a dingy.

I once had the world's most dingy dinghy, till someone stole it. Pity as it was really well built and rowed beautifully though it had homicidal stability characteristics.
 
Not nautical, but I used to work for a very cleverly named American company called 'Segue'.

One of those words that if you hear it, you can't spell and and if you see it you can't pronounce it.

All very good - until it comes to getting the company name out there! Funnily enough, they do not exist any more.

Not the same company as built the Segway self-balancing scooter, presumably, since that would be even more confusing. BTW There's a local company that hires them out for short excursions near Bray.
