no doubt i will open my mouth only to be corrected but i dont know of any manafacturer that does heating from engine as standard, like a car running water through small rad and blower seems a waste of so much free easy heat that could be used whilst out using boat in winter weather

Theres been a few threads about this before. Using various heater matrix's from landrovers mini's etc. Ok for running demisters etc, but you'll only get heat while the engine is running.

I looked into this recently, Volvo do a 5kw or 10kw (i think). The unit is made of stainless etc. I remember a quote of about £500 including ducting and fan speed controller- so like others have said, may be worth loking at the Land Rover matrix idea which will be a lot cheaper.

Having said that, I drive a Land Rover, and the heater definately doesnt push out anywhere near 5kw (feels more like someones hot breath on you!!!!)
