For travelling around the med a sail boat would be better than a MB.
I’m not sure I agree. Most sailing yachts seem to motor most of the time in the Mediterranean. If one has to motor it’s best to use a motor boat.

We had our boat in Porto di Roma for a year and it was a hangout for a few dozen wintering liveaboards. 100% yachts, there must be a reason. Great atmosphere by the way.I’m not sure I agree. Yes. One of the tips from this forum is from today count backwards over the last 180 days how many were spent in the EU and see how many days of your 90 you have left. You can stay for 90 days out of 180 . Leaving for 24 hrs does not give you another 90 days

Tragic shame for people wanting to ”live the dream” for a few years in the Med.
Just Googled and found:Yep, potentially put the kybosh on our plans. Only hope is that SWMBO has an EU country passport and visas may be an option when travelling together. Not clear if it improves the 90 day element though.
.
I don’t think a residency give you the right to freedom of the shengen.Just Googled and found:
Can you get EU citizenship through marriage?
If you marry an EU citizen, you can generally get a residence permit and work toward citizenship via naturalization just like everyone else. Some countries shorten the naturalization timeline for spouses, others do not, but all offer some type of route to citizenship via marriage.

if you have done your 90 EU days you have to stay outside the EU for 180 days to earn another full 90 EU daysso head to morocco for a couple of days
No, it's 90 days in total in all Schengen countries.Isnt that per country i.e max 90 days France then say to Italy for another 90 days ?
All of the 90 days out of 180 comments only apply if you have a short stay visa. You can stay for 90 days out of 180 . Leaving for 24 hrs does not give you another 90 days
Yes but only with exceptional circumstance. I’m thinking extended boat holidays don’t count. All of the 90 days out of 180 comments only apply if you have a short stay visa.
It is possible to get a long stay visa
