Update...

We now have a set of legs back in our possession awaiting fitting to the boat, with new bellows and 1 new prop due to damage caused in transit on the way down.

They look the part... just need to give them a spin!

I have a boat in Cheshire & could do with someone further North than Kent to help me with my Duoprop outdrives.

Sorry to hear about your issues

I do not know why but nothing in the marine industry (apart from a few recognised professionals like Volvo Paul) seems to happen on time- it just seems a different world!

Good luck with the fitting and firing up- I hope that the wait was worth it for the peace of mind
 
Yards and marine work shops generally have 'not wonderful' customer service sometimes they are so good at being bad they forget to send you an invoice so you end up chasing them to settle the bill.

On the flip side owners often don't know what they want and winge about cost so in order to keep the price down non genuine parts are sometimes used.

Well due to the bad weather we have had up on the scottish coast, we've missed our targets again, and now any nice day is about 2 degrees at best, or its a howling gale/sideways rain - We have decided to just get it sorted for spring. Pretty annoyed, frustrated, owned the boat since august and STILL not had it in the water.
 
LANEBOY !! WOW 8-9 years of fast efficient high quility work not even 4 warantees in all those years, friendly, always try to keep prices down. Always go that extra mile, 95% GREAT FEEDBACK ON THE WEB FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD, Then i deside to upgrade my work premisis also resulting in moving home to provide a better service for my clients which has unfortunatly caused some harsh delays with poor comunication and you think IVSS MARINE deserves this kind of comment !!! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED and maybe if youd ever met my self or recieved our services you would consider removing such rediculous statment as a result of GOSSIP!!!
 
Hello VOLVO PAUL , the white sealant you come across is set in place along the joint surfaces to prevent what most obviously dont do and cause. The gap between the joints is not by far at all water tight only the surfaces on the inner of the o-rings are water tight, this allows water to enter the gap you would only see under a microscope which then results in corrosion !!! this can eat slowly under and over the sealing o-ring seats untill YES it oon its way back to the people that dont know about the drives for repairt!!!,
We never ever price a job with out knowing !!! it is always explained we will have to see and inspect the items before hand and should we be able to price anything over the phone from a customers diognostic its will be known as an estimate!.
However On some occations it is demanded or dignosed past economical repair and an exchange is offered.
We stock nearly every ratio and modle of the 200 series drives including hundredes of good parts ie clutch cones all with in factory tollerances. Lowing us to build good safe drives with years more use !!

250/270/280 SP drives priced at £699 exchange these come with ALL GOOD parts and include all NEW cnsuables such as seals ( double liped ), O-rings, Reshimming, Clutch cone and shoe change if needed. all nuts bolts shafts Checked polished and greased on install to help in future removal if ever needed, complete sandblast , individual painted u.j parts with NEW crossmembers with grease nipples so the owner can service rather than pay a mechanic. etch prime, paint, and lacor then decals , we then apply oil , hook up bushes and anodes to suit your surrounding waters. IV committed my whole life to just building knowing tweaking, repairing, stocking this equipment and iv also calculated that rather than just follow suit to the supoidly " standard " drive pricing id price them to me being satified with my return ! which goes in the customers favour.

Id like to point out at this point if no one has read this full thread, the guys at ivss had explained my issues and have long been resolved.
we are very happy with our end product, but at the date of posting this was a bit of a stressful period which im sure ivss would agree on.

I take no offense from your past posts as i take full resonsability for the delays and bad comunications, id also like to publicly apologise to all those that are recieving delays at this time . With such a huge premisis and home move and the huge work load has caused some regretable delays and behaviour as to struggling to cope by my self. i can only promise that things are slowy getting back to normal and we will provide once again the efficient service provided before this move.
All of your custom is appreciated greatly and i never wish to treat my clents badly. So i apologise greatly for the past few months . Even working sometimes morning to morning just wasnt keeping up.
BUT please note to be as busy as we are that is EARNED !! people come to us and return many timnes to us for a very good reason and i intend to try my best to protect that trust and loyalty by returning the services needed. Kind regards and happy boating IVSS MARINE

You will never ever be short of work while there is a single outdrive left in the world and oil and water do not get on. :):):)

It was good to meet you last week when I did the 600 mile round trip to collect my 290DP outdrives.They look superb and I am sure they will be 100% OK when reinstalled on my
boat.My wife,Mona & I enjoyed our visit to Sandwich, Kent.Holiday Inn Express at Ramsgate is a really pleasant hotel for a few nights stay in Kent & very reasonable prices too.
I won't be able to fit the Outdrives for some time due to other commitments so thanks for the very fair Warranty that you gave me.
When they are reinstalled I will post some 'photos on this site.Good luck with your very heavy workload and thanks for working around the clock to get my outdrives finished.
The magnesium anodes haven't arrived yet but there is no hurry for them,I'm still not sure what H2o the boat will be in when relaunched.
