I am still me - just a new name!

One has to ask what the significance of 27ft is. IIRC correctly, this is turing into a bit of a fetish. Phillipa, Cutlass and now Vancouver.
You can buy my house if you want, it has a 27ft Lounge.

Peter knows that all the best boats are 27 footers, bigger than anything better, better than anything bigger :D

Hi All

User name Karouise has now been updated to Alchemist V274 to reflect my new boat. :)

Well done on the acquisition of the new boat Peter ! Look forward to seeing her on the pontoons... If you are still seeking gainful employment Brightlingsea Harbour are now officially looking for a new Harbour Master. If you have a commercial endorsement on a Yachtmaster ticket, it could be right up your street !

So true!

Oh Blimey, it's Lodge 27 (East Coast Water Rats) forming up.

27' is just right for me, sailing alone, I can cope! But the V274 feels like 30' below decks.

Flipper only went because of the keel problem, Karouise is a great boat but the lack of headroom is killing my back, just a few hours and I ache! I did toy with the idea of a more modern boat just over 30' but just didn't like the lack of atmosphere on board although the ability to motor backwards in a straight line would be a huge benefit!

The V274 just seems right, heart rules. Comfortable to use as a second home all year round and a fantastic sea boat. The Jester Azores is still at the back of my mind and with this boat very achievable.

I hope you enjoy her I had several happy years of ownership before she was sold and shortly afterwards resold a very nice couple who I met several times. I would love to see some pictures and see if much has been done to her after I refitted her. She spent several years in the Yemen with her first owner before me. If there is anything I can fill you in with just ask.

The couple you met are the people I purchased her from. They bought her in 2002. I have been passed on the bills of sale from new. I guess you changed her name from Alison of Newhaven?

Once we are sorted at Fox's we will be taking up a mooring at Pin Mill. Please feel free to come and have a look.
