I have not been on the Forum for a while ..or so it seems,i couldn,t believe the post from..HIB... Good god what,s happened???,anyway in the spirit of his post here follows a boating related story of a typical weekend when not bothered by kids the partner or any oyher outside influeneses......
Sat....it,s 6am Connie is yelping downstrairs ...sshe wants to have a call of nature and a good feed...gets up and do the buiness with her(as above you !!!).Then its breaky for me and SHMBO SOMTIMES,Coffee and a snog and she,s off to work, bless her it,s her weekend to work....58 patients she,s a star. That leaves me and Connie and 10 stainless jubliee clips 2 meters of 51mm inside diameter conveluted exhaust hose ,1 quietlife acoustic sielencer ,two GRP 180 degree bends ,two 2" straight ss steel couplings, two reducing bushes (silencer to ss couplings). And one 2" transom outlet with rubber flap.
Anyway i got to fit all this in ,the exhaust outlet of the ford is 8 inches from the transom board so the exhaust has to do two 180,s(god help the power loss,if i ,and everybody else could stand the noise i,wd put it straight through!!).antway all goes well ,you should be asking by now...how the helll do you support a huge chunk of rubber like a silencer in that space???with rubber hoses....no you go to a chandlery they say wot???is that in the Compass catalog....ooopps,digging a hole again,no the answer is go to Jewsons there you will find a bracket called a joist hanger..ideal... 10year antirust garentee, paint it anyway!!,anywy you drill the bracket to fit the original engine mounting taps on the engine block so the whole thing moves with the engine...the whole thing fits in a treat.. the only thing left is to stop the silencer jumping out of the joist hanger... from the same supplier they also do joist brackets, these have holes pri-drilled all over so made a cradle for the silencer 1/4inch wider/bigger diameter than the silencer to allow for the expansion as is as mentioned an accoustic silencer,(they expand with every detination),bolt it all together and it looks the bs,nees....hangon we need to mount the outlet in the transom....bolll*****s no hole saws....its off to Tr**** perrrk with Connie who now needs a walk, groovy the pup actually walks!!...first time with strangers ...can,t walk more than 40 yards then well meaning people say...ARAAGGHH WOT A LOVELY DOG ....does get on the perverbeiale after a while, anyway gets the hole cutters and returns blasted the hole through the Trasom and connects the whole thing up ....can,t test as no electric and engine stripped, and no raw water yet,the evening ....thats my progative....

SUNDAY:....Thats another post.....mounted helm and wheel in kitchen,,,Connie and her brother, two grandchildren......chaos!!!!! P,S Writen with BIG Arbeg after cleaning house and currently marinating chops for sue to return after shift.

Havn,t quite worked it out ,the hull is all time plaining,in the past it has had a petrol engine in with a yank outdrive with trim tabs, last bloke tried to put a shaft drive in it???.As engine there am going to use it and use the boat a day fisher,if she performs well ,say 15 knots i,ll keep her out for a tide ,if not she can go on a river!!!.just about to ring Colvic to advise of date and hull rating etcc...

Having said that have a great season with above boat ...bought from a pub carpark and has been worth every pennny, now awaiting repair/disposal
