Dear Sir,

Many thanks for your clear and understandable reply. The main reason for my former response was not due to the question "is or is it not a brutal sport", instead I was aiming for a higher goal, namely an eye-opener. Any argument beginning with "but it was always done this way" should be treated with the most caution. Most humans (even sailors!) are equipped with a brain. MY advise is, use it! Even regarding delicate painful matters such as good ol' (insert country name) traditions.

pps: Hey, I thought of a solution for the (not so likely) increasement of unemployment among hunting related business. Send those cross-dressed people over to Holland, we'll turn them from hunters into hunted.. and give the locals some fun as well! (might even be a profid in it if we sell tickets... whatta you say, 50-50????)

Presume that you think Angling should be banned too. Good idea that, as angling hurts fish, tortures them then throws them back. This is despite the fact that fish are harmless, not vermin like foxes which should be controlled.

How about a new thread headed "Ban Angling" That would put New Labour in a quandrary - they would lose most of their voters - what a good idea! I think I will start one!
