Found on the net, modified a bit for the forum, well worth reading

Take this quiz, (Or just read the content, you’ll get the gist of it)

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.

2. Name the last five World champion speedboat trophy winners.

3. Name the last five winners of the Volvo round the world race.

4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.

5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor.

6. Name the last decade's worth of World Champion Sailors.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields.

However, the applause dies. Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten.

Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school or. Showed you how to sail, or operate a powerboat.

2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.

3. Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.

4. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.

5. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.

6. Name half a dozen heroes whose stories have inspired you.

Easier?

The lesson:

The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards.

They are the ones that care.

"Don't worry about the world coming to an end today.
It's already tomorrow here.

Re: American therapy

It might sound American but if it does why is it a problem?

In using and developing therapy they are light years ahead of the rest of the world, and extremely effective with it as well. They recognise the fact at some stage in everyone's life that person will have a problem they need help with, they tend to be far open about the variety of resources available and seeking help to deal with it.

I am no lover of the Yanks but respect their abilities in these areas, I support your proposal to have a forum for the mind matters related to boating!

PS this not a pop at you personally :))

Trouble is that I can name all of the first six but I can't think of any friends who have helped me at all.
