Although this is my first post to the forum, I have been a reader for some time and consider there to be a few wise old owls out there ( as well as a splash of lunacy).

My subject is the selling of my boat, or more correctly my fathers boat. He has had it on the market now for a while, but only with his local boatyard, who also have a brokerage.

I am of the opion that this is just not going to reach enough people who may be interested.

I was wondering if anybody had any experience of advertising their boat on the web and if it produced the desired results? Are there free listings anywhere? Is it worth paying for an ad? Is it worth paying the extra comission and going to a larger brokerage?

The boat is a classic Sonny Levi designed Triana Tropica 25 with twin 205hp Steyr diesels. Not everyones cup of tea, but it is in immaculate condition after a full restoration and there may be some interest from classic boat enthusiasts.

Any ideas would be grateful.

Try <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/php/search.php3]>http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk/php/search.php3]</A>

It's free and seems very effective.

Great boat, you should post this question on the motor boat forum as well, but I guess you'll get the same answers, boatsandoutboards etc etc, also, you could try posting on the Fairey owners club forum, there are some Triana boats in the club, club rules require you to check with club first and make small donation if a sale results, its www.faireyownersclub.co.uk

I recently posted an Ad for a boat on apolloduck.co.uk and have had a lot of response from it. Boatsandoutboards has also worked out well.

I can definitely recommend <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.apolloduck.co.uk>http://www.apolloduck.co.uk</A>. I've had great results from this site.
