I have recently purchased a boat that had SSR and Part 1 registration that I believe now requires renewing.
Could anyone please advise who I need to contact and what documents are required.
Thankyou.

The boat should not be on part 1 and ssr at the same time, so only one should need to be renewed, whichever is the current. Addionally whichever register the boat was on should have updated and transfer, not 5 years after last update.

Suggest you only bother with SSR - part 1 is virtually meaningless now (except for mentioning the charges on the boat) and costs a lot more - the SSR tel no is 02920 761911, the address PO Box 508, Cardiff CF4 5FH.

They're very helpful, despite being part of Post Office Counters Ltd.

If you have the \'blue book\'

Beware that you may not get it back as all owners of vessels part 1 registered now recieve a very tacky laminate A4 registration document.

If you do have the old style blue book registration do not send the original as part of the history of your vessel will be needlessly destroyed.

Re: If you have the \'blue book\'

I was disgusted when renewing my SSR to receive a sheet of paper ..... instead of the nice book !!! So I did my own thing ..... took sheet received, made full colour scanned copy, cut in half and slid into my old blue book ..... if you look closely the clear plastic is not sealed down !

Looks the part again !!!
