The Ramarine radar has it’s own power cable, I installed a separate switch for the radar.

From memory, it's along the lines of... put the radar into standby, select the radar page, you should then have options to transmit or power off.

I am sitting in my office so I don't have the real pictures for you, but it is easy to describe in text.
1. Go to your radar page.
2. Tapping/selecting/clicking the "menu" icon on upper-right corner and a pop-up window shows up on the right of your screen.
3. Scrolling to the bottom of the pop-up window and you will see the option "POWER OFF". (The "Transmit" option is also in this
pop-up screen.)
PS. I have NSS EVO3 plotter and it has both touch screen and physical bottons. Your plotter might have different way to operate it.

Thanks to Paul and yourself.
It did feel that more power than I expected was being used when out sailing so having unnecessary load in the form of the radar being on standby all the time may well explain that.

We changed the set up on our Raymarine system to give us an overriding on/off facility, as Raymarine also have an automatic 'standby' on start-up. Simple switch, cut into power line, marked on switch panel for others to understand.
