Firstly In the manual for this new engine it doesn't mention using a flushing attachment that you can supposedly screw into the leg (i have just been sold one, hope it fits this engine!). It just mentions lowering your engine into fresh water to flush.
Secondly if the flush attachment fits, do you just attach your hose and turn on for about 5 mins. Apparently you are meant to do it with the engine still warm... not possible on some slips without a hose. How about running through stuff to clear the salt easier? Thanks.

Back in Uk I've got a custom made deep, plasticised canvas bucket that i slip under the prop and extend up to cover the leg. Then just have a hose running into it at sufficient rate to keep it full. Can't run the prop in gear but flushes the engine well. Easy to empty and easy to store. Big solid buckets are sometimes difficult to get under the leg I find and even more difficult to remove when full. I keep meaning to make one for over here but never got round to it. On the list of jobs for winter now.

I used to use a wheelie bin with some plywood either side of the clamp. Needed holding onto but worked.
