Hi All,
How could I find out the owner of an MMSI / call sign registration (UK) ?
Or is this info not publicly available ?

THANKS,
V.

That is an interesting link. I have just tried it & notice that the epirb info that I supplied over a year ago by snail mail has not appeared & neither has the info that I submitted on line a month ago.
Surely , having completed it 2 ways: firstly in plenty of time & secondly by electronic means one would have expected it to have been entered either manually or in the second instance automatically.
Any thoughts on the matter? Or does one not expect to see the info inspite of boxes alluding to the info?

Same - new boat a year ago and still shows the old owner. Mind you, this is the ITU, not OFCOM so it may be that link that is slow.

It has always been a bit slow but it should not take over a year . If it concerns you contact Ofcom

In effect I have because I have filled it in online a month ago as well. when I purchased the Eprib from Sartech they automatically advise them & I have copies of the papers. But I doubled up on it with additional info ie PLB etc. both times. But they do not even have Sartech's entry.
As for being slow, one would have expected a seamless entry from one to the other, with computers. But perhaps that is a step too far.

Yes it will

Enter the MMSI in the search box and hit "submit query"
Hit the eye symbol View attachment 135368 at the LH end of the "Ship station list" and the full station particulars will open including the owners name

.
Thanks for that. Did it for my new boat and it comes up with an owner at least 3 owners ago! Just the call sign, no MMSI although the radio did have one entered.

The key thing with your beacons is to register them with Falmouth. Their system is not connected with OFCOM or IUT, neither of which are used by the rescue services if a beacon is activated. Falmouth is the co-ordinator. Their system is slow and it can take months for the registration document to be issued, but that does not mean you are not on their system and your activation (if any) will be actioned.

I recallsome years ago when I received a call from Falmouth telling me that it would take some time to confirm that my info had been entered on the database, as it had to be done by hand. Hence, his call to tell me. The chap spoke for several minutes & I asked how long it took to enter the info . When he told me, I pointed out that it might have been quicker just to enter it on their data base rather than waste time telling me he could not do it. He agreed entirely, but said that is what his management had instructed, so that was what he was going to do.

Mine shows me as having an MMSI in spite of having no DSC radio. Surely the only thing worse than having no information is to have incorrect information?

clicking links show me as the owner but also Epirb not there despite having registered 3 years ago. However Epirb info has been on the site previously,

What’s curious having looked is some entries give not only the name of owner but also the postcode. The best entry is for former name of vessel which for one says”it never had one when I bought her” . Not certain on this basis the quality control is first rate but to be fair I have never looked at this list before. Does anyone know what the date on right hand side signifies?

It's pure fiction.
My boatis shown as having a gross tonnage of 141649 and a capacity for 32 persons.
The radio installation is total nonsense

FWIW it does not work with French MMSIs; my name does not appear, the equipment list is correct. There is also a specific French MMSI data base and it states that no personal details are available to the public, only to SAR authorities.
I tried the ITU database with a few Dutch, Italian and Spanish MMSIs and the owners' names are not indicated. Equipment lists seem to be correct.
Maybe OfCom has specific agreements?
