Seller wasn't sure about Plotter whether a 70 or 90 series ... that's why I keep posting 70 UHD ... it sticks in the mind !!

I don't know why it says without transducer as it has the typical Garmin mushroom GPS antenna on pushpit rail ... Airmar N2K 'ducer' for depth ... all connected.
The plotter would have been supplied without a transducer, that would be a separate item.

It does not need a GPS mushroom.

Well there's a GPS antenna on the pushpit rail ..... so its another item to find out why !! Maybe its a hangover from the previous plotter found under the divan ..

When you go round the boat and see things - and note that seller said he just had Yard look after / install items ... its not surprising that odd items are still there ...

So are you saying it has its own internal GPS antenna ? I cannot find any reference to it ...

Please keep in mind that cable tracing on this boat is a nightmare - panels that I cannot get to come out ... some are blind fitted ... so it really is a game sorting out what's connected.

IF I can find that GPS lead ... it could be handy as I have a spare DSC radio that needs GPS feed in ... I could feed from my existing setup - but would be nice to have a redundancy ...

Yes, built in GPS, there is no port on the back to add one, if one were needed it would need to be NMEA. I have never had to fit an external GPS on any Echomap yet.

The UHD 92SV does not come with built in charts, so the behavior in your pics is correct.

Much as we are at each other at times ... I appreciate your info here ...

Seems they have fallen foul of the typical one manual for all - regardless of actual functions.

I'm not a fan of Garmin as you well know - but it was good in Swedish waters ... with the G3 ... but at times it drove all 3 of us nuts trying to get route set etc. We ended up using our tablet Boating Navionics app .... to check it ... and I have to say that the Echomaps routing had errors - had us routed through a few odd rocks ... but tablet app avoided correctly.

(I've packed bag and now bored !! )

OK ... NMEA ... I of course used the brown wire in the Power / Data cable to get AIS to the unit .... ground is common so no need to connect separately.

Here's the back of the unit and as we see ... only the Power / Data (left) and the Sonar (right) are connected ... the N2K and Panoptix are empty.

It confirms your point about the GPS ... as the NMEA wire was not in use ... until I needed it for AIS.
