How to create a copy of Garmin Bluecharts?

I have one Bluechart card with Channel Islands on it and another with the whole of the Channel inc CI's. Clearly it would be better to have a backup of the whole. Can I copy and overwrite the big one to the little one? Alternatively, can I buy a blank card and copy onto that? Ta as ever.

either plug the gps into a pc, or get a microSD to USB adaptor and plug the card into a pc. You can then copy and paste the contents of the card onto your hard drive.

I have a 178c and it runs the data cards for storing info.
