How old is it?

I am interested in buying a GIBSEA 242 which I have looked over.
The owner tells me the boat was built in 1990 .How can I tell if this is correct.
There is a number/letter list imprinted on the transom of the boat but it does not seem to indicate a year.

Any advice welcome.

Hi,

There is normally a date on the same plate, but if you have a hull number call a Gib'Sea agent and ask them to date it for you.

We have a 1989 Gib'Sea 76 and it has a plate on the port side at the rear of the cockpit which has the date etc on.

The 242 is a nice boat and I have been impressed by the quality of our's.
