I met a Breton who keeps his boat in Tunisia. He said that half the boats there were occupied by live-aboard Bretons because the cost was a fraction of what it is at home. There are cheap flights there as well.
Knowing the OP pretty well, and his French speaking skills, this is like "la grand-mère d'enseignement pour sucer des oeufs" (according to google!)Anyway, back to topic, I think it's the golden rule anywhere that if one even TRIES to speak the local language, doors open.
By the way, we have heard of some very popular places where the waiting list is nearer 20 years!!! Book now for the next generation.
