I wrongly thought I'd be there by now - but now I realise when I was calculating yesterday it it was c40 hours ...

The mark is now 303Nm away and I'm doing 15Kts ... so I should be there in 20 hours or so ....

This is the longest I've gone without changing course!!

I've been keeping my beady little eye on you! My calculations a few minutes ago (before I saw your post) indicated you would arrive at the mark at around 11 am and I will get there at about 3:30 am. I now need an excuse to explain to SWMBO why I am at the computer at 3 am. Will I be able to convince her that I am looking at porn? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I'm currently doing 11.4 knots. If this pesky wind would just back a little bit, the westerly gang could make a bit more progress. It looks like it will back as I get near the mark but that will just help all those behind me.

These boats don't go to windward very well. Lesson learnt.

They don't go very well in no wind either! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Yep, I recon 4am for me as I am Europe at the moment. Alarm clock job I think.

Fortunately I am here by myself so can get up with no explanations.

Tell you what Dipper, give me your password and I'll take you round the mark. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I'd rather give you SWMBO. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Currently doing 12.3 knts with 133 miles to go at this speed that would be 3.30 am but I expect the wind to increase and vear a bit so will bet on 0245. I will recalculate later tonight. I have a slight advantage on Dipper and SKT but not enough to catch them.

He's the closest boat (ybwSKT) on my port side and just ... splutter ... in ... spit ... front .... splutter. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

This is the first chance I've had today to look at the options once round the mark. I don't think this mark will really matter, it is anything but plain sailing once round it. There will be a lot of decisions to be made.

Starting a day late, I am just over 500nm to the mark, so hope to get there in about 45 hours, or a little under two days.

though the weather/wind does look like its improving over that time so hopefully I might pick up a bit of speed.
