How long does it take to transfer a Part 1 Registration?

Just bought the boat from the original owner and both of us are private individuals, UK citizens and UK resident. The broker is dealing with the transfer of registration but I hear anectdotally of transfers taking six to eight weeks. Is this the norm? At the moment I don't have a registration certificate so I can't take the boat to France.

I recently applied to transfer a Part 1 registration, it took 3 weeks exactly to receive the docs.

Transfer took a week and half in 2011. But its probably pot luck tbh.

You can pay to expedite it, worth it to keep a holiday. Part 1 is great, but a bit of a pain with changes, still worth it though.
