How far can you get

from the sea in the UK? Lots of places claim to be as far from the sea as you can get but which town/village is the furthest?

My bid is Stoke Manderville in Buckinghamshire.

I always though it was a small village near Daventry. I think it is something like 50 miles from the nearest bit of coastline, but I can't remember it's name.

Good Lord - I remeber as a kid having to walk to Church Flatts Farm for milk and eggs when we tied up at Skirbeck one cCristmas holiday cruise. Got soundly beaten for being late back - them were the days . . .

Meriden just off the A45 between the NEC and Coventry. They're proud of it (even have a sign in the village) and the local fishmonger has recently gone bust.
