Nat West have kept my account open and issued me with debit cards for the last 10 years I have lived in France, they did however last week inform me that they were closing my unused overdraft facility but gave me the option of requesting for it to be maintained. I have kept a float of between a £1,000 and £2,000 in it with periodic use but nothing that you would consider normal for a UK resident.

HSBC seem fine with us, they are fully aware of the address in Spain and use it for correspondence, new cards came week before last.
