Apparently TCM is due home soon after a sojourn in Goingtotellitall. He was held on suspicion of links to Al Quaeda after his wife was seen shopping in Harrods .. it it has taken a little while for intelligence services to realise that it is in fact owned by Al Fayed. Tony Bush is reported ta have said "OK, we got that bit wrong, but the man is a known literary terrorist, and intelligence will be found somewhere!"

Meanwhile TCM has honed his kickboxing skills and has gained a new boilersuit, he'll be using orange antifouling this year.

What excelent sources jimi seems to keep. To slightly correct him, I have in fact been skiing, and on the way home i investigated a new business opportunity in Paris, taking tourists along the north side of the river Seine at speed in a large mercedes motor car.

Sounds like TCM would make an excellent M15 candidate.. rumour has it they are looking for staff.. that way TCM could be a literary double agent.. Agent TCM has a certain ring to it don't you think?

If young Tony Bush says (of TCM) that " intelligence will be found somewhere" are we to accept that none has been or will ever be located?

Re: Pont d\'Alma underpass survey

Having taken a special detour (in a merc, albeit without outriders or flashguns) I must say that the route is fairly tortuous above 70 ish when one could be described as going quickly, and a second run touching 90+ needed a lot of concentration. But with the damage suffered to a more notable merc at an earlier date, that car must have been going at one hell of a speed, and the idea of flashing it at the correct millisecond is hugely unlikely with no real possibility of seeing it coming in advance, for example, nor of catching it on a motorbike with pillion armed with a flashgun, really. All the pillars whizz by very swiftly and the underpass is by no means a long vast cavern as in TV reconstructions - just a short cut/cover underpass. Also, the preceding sections of road from the Place Vendome are via place de la Concorde are tortuous too - at no stage do they tempt a driver to "floor it" - there's no long view of the road ahead.

Given the likley speed of the car at impact, and the fact that none of the experienced drivers/passengers in the back commanded the driver to pack in the lunatic driving speeds, and that despite the huge speed none none of them fastened their seat belts, the results of my survey are that most if not all occupants of the car must have been somewhere between quite sloshed and very slaughtered indeed.

Re: Pont d\'Alma underpass survey

Well we found the intelligent leak .. hard I hear you say in Wales .. but no, there are lots of vegetables there. Well we'll try it for treason cos that's bad. Oh shit, it could be embarassing we'll just forget about it ... rings bell about another recent case where a sudden memory recall halted things .. Justice ... f#ck off its a fascist state .. oh and why do we suddenly need all these new secret police as Tony gears up for a third term?
