Hi
The horn on my merry fisher 695 has failed.
I have the horn off the boat looking at it I think it would need a relay to operate.
Is this correct and if so has anyone any help as to were to look.
The horn button is not easy to get at but a I have tested the voltage at the connections and it’s good.
The button assembly looks a bit strange is the relay contained in this assembly
Any help much appreciated.

It works by way of an electro magnet.
I think this would require a pulse relay to operate. A wiring diagram showing the location of the relay would be of help

The horn operates by the diaphragm being drawn in by current, this action switches off the current by means of a contact breaker on the diaphragm The diaphragm returns to rest only to make contact again and so it goes producing a frequency.
Any relay in the circuit is to relieve current on the horn button and not to provide a pulse.
@PCUK suggestion is the place to start.
