I've been looking around for some time at designs for long keeled, transomed sterned boats of around 28 feet, with the long term aim of building one. A Twister is the obvious choice, but I'm not totally happy with its looks- to mee the bow profile looks too straight. That and I'd like a fractional rig.

I've just seen in this months Classic Boat the "Class Notes" section on the Honey Bee. This yacht looks perfect. Does anyone know the class and have any comments on it, good or bad? The sail area looks excessively low to me.

Does anyone know if the plans can be obtained from anywhere? I imagine the designer AK Balfour is dead. Are there any next of kin selling his designs?
