I have a Honda BF5 outboard with a 13 litre Honda steel fuel tank ( tank 1980/90s at a guess). The fuel line and fittings are fixed to the boat and I want a spare fuel line for home testing. The bayonet fitting at the tank end seems to be obsolete as I cannot find one anywhere. The female tank fitting is marked Keihin which is the fuel components/carb/fuel injection manufacturer part owned by Honda, but the current Honda tank end fittings I see on the internet are entirely different.
I can buy a new tank with a new type fuel line, but if i can locate a Keihin male bayonet it would be nice.
Also, should I ditch my steel fuel tank anyway and replace it with plastic ? This would seem to give a problem as the steel tank has a cap that is also the breather which has a tube which vents fumes (plus pressure release) into the cockpit. I can't see a similar arrangement for a breather vent on the plastic tanks from the photos (maybe there is one and I just don't recognise it) and that concerns me a bit as the tank is under the cockpit.
