I have an outboard that was "borrowed" and since has lost oil dramatically.
Stripped down to major components, I can not find the source of any leak. The clutch is dry and oil free, and the engine itself seems free of the source.of oil loss.
It starts and runs but the oil has escaped after approx 10 mins running.
Any suggestions?

How much is in the sump .... probably a couple of hundred mls .... if it was burning that much oil in 10 minutes you would be choking to death in the smoke.

I assume that it's an air-cooled engine so the oil can't be going out with the cooling water, so if it's not burning the oil and it's not visibly leaking out somewhere it must be leaking somewhere where it's not visible. Could it be leaking into the drive leg?

Oil capacity is an astonishingly tiny 250ml. Half a mugful. Actually I suspect it's less than that as when I refill it's usually over filled and then refuses to start!
So the sump is very shallow and you only have to tip a few degrees for the oil to disappear from the sight glass. So are you sure it's leaking?
When I check the oil I just rock the engine on its leg until I can see the meniscus pass the window. If so it's ok.
Of course it will leak oil if you lay it on its side carb down. But then it doesn't matter as it will not start anyway.

I’m guessing that it was laid down on its wrong side and oil ran out it. Pretty sure this is one of the models that needs to be laid on only one certain side to stop this.
Best of luck.

Let it settle for a few minutes. Also make sure the engine is facing directly forward and is true vertical.. if not you will get a false reading
If you have a leak 90% of the time it will be from the rocker cover or from the crank breather exiting through the airbox.
If it is coming from the airbox it has either been stored incorrectly or overfilled with oil
