I need to move up a boat size..my Targa 33 is just to small for how i want and need to use a boat. You my recall my previous thread about a three cabin boat.

I've had a really good look at what about and narrowed it down to two very different boats...both of which are rare in the UK.

So it's either of the below.

Rodman 41 on shafts..a few for sale in spain and a very good use of space inside.

Royal Storebro 420 baltic...very different but gorgeous inside and the dinette can be easily turned into a full time cabin giving three large double beds. Not many 420's about but some 40's in the baltic but all very high engine hours. A chap in Beaulieu was kind enough to show us around his and i was sold at that point.

So that where i'm at..both boats will do what i want.one faster but the other more stable in rough weather and both around the 140 - 150k mark ish.

What do we think of both as i welcome real world thoughts on these?

Cheers

both great boats - as ever condition is everything. Also engines. Not all of Volvo's engines are as good as others. Read up on here on the various volvo engines. You can't go far wrong with a looked after tamd 63 or a tamd 74 - lovely engines, good reputation
the layout of the Storebro is very similar to a Sealine F43/410. Always a popular boat, have you looked at any of those?

I used to have boats that would do 30 knots - very rarely did that, used to cruise 18 -24 knots depending. I now value seaworthiness and a soft ride over top end speed.

If you want a big 2 cabin Fairline the 43 AC is available at Port Solent , it’s one of my customers boats, needs a little tlc on the inside but mechanically sound .

Not a very successful boat for Fairline.
Only two sleeping cabins small galley
Cockpit seating not comfortable and poor viewing viz due to bow up ride angle.
Difficult stern access due to narrow companionway and lack of handrails.

I saw a Pearl 43 for sale online recently that looked in very good condition with a three cabin layout.
An older option is a Broom Monarch three cabin layout. Nice if you get one with Volvo 306’s

The only reason for moving up is i need three bedrooms.

A ten year old that needs his own room and an autistic 24 year old that also needs his own room and i want a bed big enough for two in comfort.
