Just got back from Plymouth last night. Nine hour bloody drive. No stopping, not even for a pee. Yet I did it on August bank holiday saturday in three and a half hours!! AaaRrrGggg.

Arrived Plymouth last Saturday after only a seven hour drive. Whats happening, four and a half is the norm. But Dave the dirty lurker from here abouts, was there to greet me. So things were looking up. Got a bill for the new headlining a week or two ago, so it must have at last been done. There it was, resplendant, he'd done a super job. Just one slight niggle. It's the wrong bloody colour, it's white, not just any white, but Dulux brilliant bloody white. AaaRrrGggg!! It's supposed to be creamish.

A quick phone call and LJS is on his way from Exmouth and spending the night in Dartmouth, so next morning rings the dirty lurker Dave, thinking we can have a nice leasurely cruise to at least Salcolmbe, before catching up with LJ. Course the lurker arrives late and Lj's set off soon. So is already passing Agatha Chrispy's Island, before we set off. Well this is going to be boring I thinks, seeing Blue fisher, a dot in the distance. So hatches a plan. We'll hide, sneak round the back of him and surprise him with a big
splosh../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
Now hiding a P35 on a dead flat sea is not easy!! So heads straight out to sea. He'll think it's some one else, wont he. Well. I'd sneaked about half way round him, when the bugger just stopped, and turned round!! Now wheres the sportsmanship in that??

Lj manages to book his spot in my marina, about three miles away, right round the other side of the pontoons. So after he and LJ junior had hiked round a couple of times, he did the sencible thing and came and rafted against me. But then boringly started talking about work and things, so buggered off home.

To be continued.

Anyway, whilst LJ was away for a few days I had a mosey about on my own, that is apart from LJs son treating mucky Farter like the local comunial water taxi. Ferrying him back to university now and then../forums/images/icons/smile.gif. On my return from one of these adventures, and just coming to my berth. Theres this bloke shouting to me. GIVE ME A TOW. So I shouts back. But your on bloody dry land!! Not only that, but on the other side of the pontoon. Suppose I could have dragged him over the top of it!!

Then, another day, a funny thing happened. Bloke walks past while I'm washing a bit of boat. Usual crack. You can do mine when you've finnished. Anyway I ambles round gets talking, he comes out with the beer. He's a raggie and is wanting to clean his. Eerrr deck cubby holley, where you sit type place. Cockpit I suppose. So I brings him the Mucky Farter patented Boat Remover Elixire. Well hell was impressed. Then I happened to mention this place. Turned out it was Poter. We'd been talking on here only the week before..../forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Yus it was I.... on my trusty "Shady Lady".... now of all the places that the Marina could have put me, they park me right next to "Mucky" makes Shady look like a tender! Still did get to use the patented boat cleaner... what a sparkle... great stuff.
Thanks Hayden...
Oh I assume you went back up norf on Friday, did you not hear the local Radio ref the idiots & pile ups on the M5, and just about everywhere else.

I'll look in on Mucky tommorrow just to make sure she's afloat.

regards

poter.

It was obvious it was you, only you will go out to sea about ten miles before turning right or left, must be something to do with your dicky autopilot.

Still want to know why they were trawling in your marina, maybe someone's lost a boat and that's the only way to find it?
